Alfie Corbitt raced behind the leaders before progressing to take up the lead after the fifth last fence where she soon gained a strong advantage over his rivals and went on to enjoy a comfortable win. Out of a full-sister to the Grade two placed Glasker Mill, Alfie Corbitt looks like a horse that is set to further add to this winning family when he makes his progression to park racing.
P2P.ie Review: Dowhatudobest has shown plenty of promise on her two starts to date having finished third on her debut run at Lingstown in March. Building on the experience gained that day, the daughter of City Honours then stepped up on her latest start to finish runner-up at Bartlemy in May. Ridden in mid-division for much of the race, this progressive mare made good headway over the final half a mile where she then led before the final fence and was just headed on the run-in where she kept on well behind the winner to finish two and a half lengths at the finish. Dowhatudobest has proven to be a consistent sort who jumped and travelled professionally and lost little in defeat which highlights her as a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer it seems.
P2P.ie review: Asking A Lot was a winner of her five-and-six-year-old mares’ maiden at Oldcastle on what was her sixth start between the flags. The daughter of Ask had been third on three of her previous runs with her most recent appearance before Sunday being at Taylorstown in April. The Sean Doyle-trained mare made it a pillar to post victory and appeared to relish the good ground conditions to win by an eased down three and a half lengths. The consistent mare is a half-sister to the three-time winner and Grade three placed Woods Well and looks the sort that will provide plenty of entertainment for her new connections.
