Updates
P2P.ie Review: Shanroe Smooch has been an improving performer this season and gained a deserved success in the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Taylorstown. Having made his debut at Castletown-Geoghegan in October, the son of Ask was then fourth at Tyrella in January and March before securing a two and a half-length victory on his latest start. Shanroe Smooch raced in mid-division for much of the contest before making good progression over the final half a mile where he took up the lead from the third last fence and quickened well on the run to the final fence where he then wandered slightly on the run-in but still had enough left to hold onto the victory. A half-brother to a dual track winner, Shanroe Smooch is also from the family of the Grade two and eight-time winner Bobby Grant and looks like a horse that is set to further add to this winning family when he makes his progression to park racing.
