Flower Ball made his debut in a very hot maiden at Loughanmore over Easter and he offered plenty of encouragement that opening effort which saw him race close to the pace throughout, before a mistake at the penultimate fence cost him his chance of a solid finish and he was wisely pulled-up. Re-appearing on quicker ground at Taylorstown, a chance of tactics were employed aboard the son of Ballingarry which saw him ridden with greater restraint towards the rear of the field, which saw him stay-on powerfully from a long way back to grab a third-placed finish in the closing strides. The bay gelding is clearly improving and looks a progressive type.
