P2P.ie Review: Going Gold made the perfect start to his competitive career with a winning debut at Bartlemy on Sunday. Out of a Rudimentary mare who was placed behind subsequent dual-Grade 3 winner For Bill on her only start in a Point-to-Point at Aghabullogue, this son of Gold Well produced a nice turn of foot to defeat a more experienced rival, Cave Top by a length-and-a-half, with a further four-and-a-half lengths back to the well-bred Pulp Fiction, a €36,000 store who finished in third. The runner-up brought a solid line of form into the race having finished fourth, beaten just over 8 lengths by Lost Frequency on sole previous outing at Taylorstown earlier in the month. Once kicking from home at the second-last, he produced a notable turn of foot and could never be reeled in as he led home a one, two, three for his owners and he looks more than capable of enjoying track success.
