P2P comment: Following two early runs in competitive five-year-old maiden’s in January, Blue Mountain Boy, made an immediate impact when switching to running in adjacent hunt company, winning by eight lengths on Good ground in a five-runner race at Inch. The Blueprint gelding who is out of a Royal Dane mare who won a point-to-point at Dawstown on Good ground. This first foal of hers appears to also enjoy Good ground as he followed-up that success when landing a small field winners’ contest. Although left in front when his main market rival unshipped two-out, he was still going well at the time, and given the way he saw out his race at Inch, he would certainly have stayed-on all the way to the line to put it up to him. Terence O’Brien’s charge then went on to finish sixth behind the very impressive Fabulous Saga in a point-to-point bumper at Tipperary recently.
