P2P.ie comment: With the benefit of an encouraging debut effort at Belharbour, The Little Player ran a fine race to fill the runner-up spot in a four-year-old maiden at Borris House in late February. Always held in high regard, the Malinas gelding was ridden with restraint in the three-mile event, before making stylish progress to challenge at the third last. The four-year-old can be forgiven for tiring in the closing stages in the heavy underfoot conditions and looks the type that could slot in with ease over middle-distances under rules. The race which was run 13 seconds below the average at the track that day, has received a number of form boosts since with Gigginstown recruit Valdieu winning next time out and both Cheer's Delboy and Cap Du Nord filling the runner-up slot since.
