P2P.ie comment: After pulling-up on debut in an ultra-competitive four-year-old maiden at Maralin in October on debut, a race which has produced no fewer than five subsequent maiden winners, half of the field which lined up on that occasion, Movie Theatre returned a much stronger sort following a six-month mid-season break. Running in pair of adjacent hunt races during the spring, Movie Theatre only found Lisnagreggan, the only previous winner in the contest, too good when taking on adjacent winners’ company at Loughanmore over Easter. With the form of that run receiving a boost when the third-placed Theatre One won his maiden at Fairyhouse, it was no surprise to see Movie Theatre land an adjacent contest at Broughshane. Always positioned to the fore under Mark O’Hare, the Multiplex gelding continued to find for pressure when challenged to defeat the odds-on favourite by just over a length.
