P2P.ie Review: Straw Fan Jack made a taking debut when finishing second in the first division of the four-year-old geldings' maiden at Bartlemy in May. Ridden and trained by Mark Scallan, this Geordieland gelding held every chance on route the final fence and although not quite able to match what looks a very smart individual, the debutant kept on gamely to finish a promising second. Owned by Laura Roche, this fine grey stayed on well to the line, finishing eight lengths clear of his nearest rival. Out of a dual winner over hurdles, this likable sort should come on for this experience and could well become a useful sort in between the rails for new connections.
