P2P.ie Review: Samcro looked every inch a star of the future with a most impressive debut success at Monksgrange on Saturday. Travelling with real fluency through the very testing underfoot conditions, the son of Germany produced a turn of foot that none of his rivals could match as he breezed clear in a matter of strides in between the final fence, before a slow leap at the last allowed the Gordon Elliott-trained runner-up Elegant Escape to close, however he was always holding that horse all the way up the run-in. Value for significantly further than the winning margin suggests, he barely came of the bridle in a performance which is of a very high order indeed. With a high cruising speed, he will likely be suited by the drop back in trip and is very exciting.
