137. Howyabud (IRE)

Baltimore Stables (James Doyle)
Not Sold (60000)

Updates

P2P Review - Howyabud has an extremely consistent profile, having finished second in all three starts and brings a nice mix of bumper and point-to-point form. Two second-placed finishes at Ballinrobe in the spring, including when chasing home the recent Punchestown winner Hey Johnny marked him out as a capable individual and he backed those efforts up with an eye-catching debut in the points sphere at Monksgrange in September. This was a truly-run race, as evidenced by the eventual time coming in 14 seconds quicker than the day’s average, and having jumped the final fence in third, the Milan gelding saw out the three miles to particularly good effect, coming through to take the second spot, closing on the winner at the line. As a half-brother to Grade 2 winning mare Maria’s Benefit who started his career for the same connections, there is a lot to like about this individual.
