P2P.ie Review: In each of Heavey’s two outings to date, he has stayed-on strongly in the closing stages, most notably on his latest outing at Moira. On that occasion the Trans Island gelding was done no favours after landing over the second-last fence, meeting with trouble in running that saw him with upwards of eight lengths to bridge on the run for home. The downhill race for the line at Moira would not have aided him to make up that ground, but to his credit he more than halved the deficit, finishing fastest of all on the run-in to finish within two and a-half lengths of the form horse of the race. He is clearly a progressive individual, and having stayed-on strongly around two tracks that would not be the biggest of galloping courses on the circuit, there may well be a lot more to come from him.
