P2P.ie Review: Giovanni Acuto offered some encouragement on his Irish debut in the opening four-year-old maiden of the spring season at Ballinaboola, where he was very much involved until dropping to fifth in the closing stages. That was over the shorter 2m4f trip, and he certainly did not seem to be inconvenienced by the additional half-a-mile when re-appearing at Courtown in April. In a steadily run contest, he was able to quicken as the pace of the race developed inside the final half-mile, ensuring that he held every chance jumping the penultimate fence and looked booked for a place finish, only to be brought down at the final fence with the line in sight. He is going the right way.
