1 Put The Kettle On (IRE) by Stowaway (GB) x Name For Fame (USA)

Review: The first lot into the ring, Put The Kettle On has been no stranger to firsts in her illustrious career on the track: the first mare in history to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase, the first mare since Analog’s Daughter to win the Arkle Challenge Trophy and the only mare alive to have won an open Grade 1 Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. The daughter of Stowaway also numbers victories in Cheltenham’s Grade 2 Schloer Chase on an impressive race record.
Still only an eight year old, Put The Kettle On is one of the most exciting broodmare prospects ever to be offered for sale at public auction.
The last word should perhaps be left to her regular rider Aidan Coleman, who had this to say following their famous success in the Champion Chase: “If you could bottle what she has I would never have to ride again because I could sell it. I'd be a rich man”.

2 Imonlysaying (IRE) by Shantou (USA) x Catwalk Babe (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: An excellent debut by this son of the great Shantou. He showed slight inexperience after the second last but quickly found his way and locked into a battle with the more experienced and talented Way Out. It was a terrific battle and the depth of the pair ensured it was a long gap back to the third. At the line it required the judge to study the result closely before finally confirming a winning margin of a head against this five year old but he had done enough to confirm his enormous promise and his winning days are sure to be many and in top company based on this exceptional debut. He is out of a Presenting own sister to Doctor Harper and represents something which could well be unique at this stage which is the opportunity to secure a proven and talented young son of the late and great Shantou.

3 Townhill (IRE) by Presenting (GB) x Ladies Pride (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A very smart winner of his maiden on debut at Loughrea where he won by 20 lengths when his nearest rival came down having cracked under pressure at the last in the closing stages. He had asserted on the run to the last in any case and had shown his superiority over his rivals and it was run in a time thirteen seconds faster than the average time on the day. By the great Presenting he is from the family of Royal Regatta and Three Musketeers along with the hugely talented Strong Flow.

4 Loop Head (IRE) by Westerner (GB) x River Mill (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A debut winner of his maiden at Nenagh this youngster showed all the right signs to suggest there is a lot more to come. He set off in mid division but there was no doubt in Derek O’Connor’s mind that he could apply a change of tactics early in this contest and he soon went to the front. A thoroughly uncomplicated individual he was very professional in front and looked set for clear victory going to the last where he made his first notable error. It is to his credit that he managed to retain balance and momentum and retain the lead all the way to the line when challenged by a very promising runner up. His dam won a seventeen runner bumper for Paul Nolan on what was her final start so can be considered a talented sort and she is also a sister to Cloone River. A very likeable start to this fellow career and a big future undoubtedly awaits.

5 Iorens (FR) by Coastal Path (GB) x Anglica (FR)

P2P.iew Review: An impressive debut winner of her maiden at Rathcannon on Sunday. There have been few opportunities for mares this season with some fixtures falling by the wayside so it must be assumed that the mares that are turning up to run are doing so in very competitive company indeed. From the bottom of the testing hill in Rathcannon this mare always seemed to have good control of her rivals and whilst they notably quickened to the line this mare had at least one gear too many for her rivals. She is a smart sort who clearly stays but the speed she showed and high cruising speed was notable also which should be no surprise given that her dam was placed on the level. Her page also points to more speed so she should turn out to be a very versatile and classy sort.

6 Harjo (IRE) by Yeats (IRE) x Frankly Native (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: Having unseated at the first fence on debut at Farmacaffley this fellow effectively made his debut at Portrush where he ran out a convincing seven length winner from the well touted Gordon Elliott trained  favourite Ellis Boyd Redding. Having been ridden off the pace he made his way strongly through the field leaving the back straight to race clear in the closing stages. He showed a lot of speed when called upon and looks a smart sort with a big future. The speed may well be explained by the proximity of some smart sorts on the page such as Sound Man, Master Of The Hall and Samcro. He is one with a big future.

7 Act of Authority (FR) by Authorized (IRE) x Leah Claire (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: This lot will be on any serious purchasers shortlist as he has ticked every box required to indicate he is going right to the top. He is produced by the consignors of Jonbon and Sir Gerhard. When offered as a store such was the quality of the individual that he realised 145,000 and he is out of a versatile nine times winning mare who has top form both on the level and over hurdles. On his one and only outing to date he scored in impressive fashion winning at Lisronagh. It is clear to see that from the second last his rider is always comfortable and in control and has the measure of his rivals where he ultimately won by a snug two lengths. Impossible to fault in any way at this stage of his career.

8 Croke Park (IRE) by Walk In The Park (IRE) x Toledana (FR)

P2P.ie Review: A fine individual who was tucked into a pocket on the turn for home at Dromahane but once a gap appeared behind the leading trio he quickly went to the front at the second last and showed the gears he had available once required. He found generously on the run to the last and then what was further encouraging and admirable was the way he battled when the talented He’s My Hero stayed on to the line. This fellow impressed all judges as a store costing 150,000 and his effort here further confirms his likely future path. He had shown much promise at Lingstown on debut when finishing second in a maiden which has produced an unprecedented three winners already in less than a month.

9 Private Ryan (IRE) by Presenting (GB) x Sea Jewel (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A smart winner of his maiden at Ballyraggett where he made all the running and when challenged two out he proved that there was ample left in the tank to pick up a second time and go clear of his rivals. He had been running very promising races at both Fairyhouse and Portrush before coming down on each occasion but his first completed start restored confidence and confirmed talent when he was third at Ballinaboola in a well-regarded maiden. He then made the progression to maiden winner which would have been very much expected and he can now continue to progress through the ranks. His dam is by Flemensfirth and a sister to First Lieutenant.

10 Hurricane Highway (IRE) by Malinas (GER) x Florida Pet (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A thoroughly game son of Malinas who found generously when asked in the latter part of his maiden at Liscarroll on debut. He looked set to engage in a battle with the strongly travelling Duhallow Tommy from the home turn but once his rider asked for maximum effort he drew an impressive ten lengths clear of his rivals. It is a notable positive when a youngster continues to stretch all the way to the line in such competitive company and he must be taken very seriously indeed as a horse with notable potential to go all the way to the top of the national hunt ladder.

11 Fancy Girl (IRE) by Champs Elysees (GB) x Chase The Favorite (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: This daughter of Champs Elysees was a very smart winner of her debut at Ballyragget. A straightforward sort she was always close to the pace before quickening away smartly in the closing stages in the manner of a mare who could drop right back in trip and remain very competitive. Her dam was a tough sort winning on each of her last three outings of her career for Dessie Hughes and this mare looks set to add her share of success to the page also given that the time of this race was eleven seconds faster than the average time on the day.

12 Jet Smart (IRE) by Jet Away (GB) x Cherry Island (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A son of the high-flying Jet Away this youngster contested a very competitive Lisronagh maiden recently and finished a fine second to the very exciting Act Of Authority who was a 145,000 store suggesting this was a maiden of the highest quality. This youngster fared notably well in finishing a fine second and giving the winner a real challenge from the home turn.  He has laid the foundation for a very bright career and looks an exciting propsect for the future.

13 Kamsinas (FR) by Kamsin (GER) x Louvadeus Has (FR)

P2P.ie Review: A very tough debut winner of his maiden at Loughrea where he had to fend off a very determined challenge from the talented Winchmore Hill who was a very strongly supported debutante in this race. This was the fastest time of the day clocking fifteen seconds faster than the average time on the card and provided a terrific finish. The leading contenders had to show speed and resilience to emerge to the fore here as it was a most competitively fought contest. His sire was a six times winner and a Group 1 Classic winner and his dam is also a winner suggesting this is a page that relentlessly delivers quality winners.

14 Encanto Bruno (IRE) by Mahler (GB) x Stratosphere (GB)

P2P.ie Review: An impressive debut winner of his maiden at Ballynoe. With the front running Cato Capone having stolen a lead on the run towards the final two fences it was admirable the way this son of Mahler broke from the pack and in isolation reeled back in the leader and went to the front over the final fence. He ultimately went away to win by two lengths producing the better jump when the pressure was on showing he has the constitution to compete and deliver in the most testing of circumstances. He hails from a versatile page suggesting new connections will have many options open to them in the future and all can be assumed to be at the highest level.

15 Regarde (IRE) by Kapgarde (FR) x Mazaryne (FR)

P2P.ie Review: A steadily improving sort who won on his most recent outing at Monksgrange by a wide margin and in a very fast time on the day. He had only  been beaten five lengths on his debut in a point-to-point bumper showing his versatility as he then took to points where he had been third and second before opening his account most recently. His versatility and progression ensure he will be a very effective charge for new connections going forward. He hails from the family of the high class The New One.

16 Prince de Juilley (FR) by Honolulu (IRE) x Horemsaf (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: This five-year-old was a fine fourth in a well-regarded maiden of its type at Belharbour before taking the step to maiden success at Lisronagh. It was a true test of his resolve to come out on top at Lisronagh as there were quite a few of his rivals laying down very serious challenges after the last fence but to his credit he rose to the challenge and fended off all comers to retain his advantage all the way to the line. He is already a brother to a four times winning black type performer confirming this is a talented family where he can add further to the page it would seem.

17 Deep Cave (IRE) by Court Cave (IRE) x Lady Knightess (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: In a maiden once won by the great Best Mate this son of Court Cave ran out a most convincing winner. The time of this race was an exceptional seventeen seconds faster than average so it is of particular note the power of the final surge from this winner. He stayed on very strongly between the final two fences and continued to widen the gap all the way to the line. It was a very informative effort as it showed he is very much comfortable off a strong pace and also holds the stamina required to contest top class prizes in the future. The acceleration he showed between the final two fences suggests he has the attributes to compete at the very top of the national hunt table. His dam won a bumper from only three outings for Tom Cooper suggesting there is ample talent in the pedigree to afford this fellow a very bright future indeed.

18 Winchmore Hill (IRE) by Walk In The Park (IRE) x Hats And Heels (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A fine son of Walk In The Park who is out of a black type Flemensfirth mare and has one very promising run to his name. He may not have been entirely suited by the tighter turn to the final fence but once on balance in the home run he closed the gap to the eventual winner to a very narrow margin coming out a closed second. It seems near certain that this fellow will benefit greatly from the progression to Grade 1 course where he can utilise his scope and maximise his undoubted ability. He looks set to win plenty of race at a decent level throughout his career.

19 Cato Capone (IRE) by Notnowcato (GB) x Cap The Rose (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A fine son of Notnowcato who is out of a Roselier mare and this striking grey has made a big impression on debut at Ballynoe. He looked to have set sail for home with winning expectations on the run to the second last but did somewhat feel the effect of his efforts when joined by eventual winner Encanto Bruno. What was admirable is how generously he found reserves once joined and still held a very live chance but for a notable error at the last where he did well to recover as well as he did. He clearly has a high cruising speed as he was travelling strongest on the run to the second last and his resolution for the game is certainly not for question given how he responded once challenged. He is a brother to a black type performer in Baily Cloud and his dam is a sister to Alcapone while he hails from the family of one of the all-time great NH talents in Carvills Hill who, like this fellows damsire, was by Roselier.

20 Classic Anthem (IRE) by Affinisea (IRE) x Clohass Lane (GB)

P2P.ie Review: An impressive debut winner of his maiden at Monksgrange. He had cruised through to the lead before the second last in a fast run contest where he had stamped his authority in no uncertain terms before landing over the second last. Such was the gruelling test this race offered that the rivals from the Colin Bowe and Donnchadh Doyle yard were pulling up at this point while the second last fence faller took something of a tired fall. Even in coming home along from that point this fellow clocked a reasonable time and a mistake at the last merely served to indicate how much he had in the tank at this time. From the family of Snitton Lane he looks an exciting addition to the catalogue.

21 Magical Zoe (IRE) by Shantou (USA) x Fedaia (IRE)

Review: Magical Zoe was simply in a league of her own with an emphatic debut success in a well contested Mares Bumper at Cork on 24 March.   Displaying both a high cruising speed and a latent ability to quicken, Magical Zoe had the race put to bed in a matter of strides. This well bred filly hails from one of the final crops of the peerless Shantou whose progeny have long played a leading role in all the big National Hunt Festivals. Magical Zoe holds an entry in the valuable Goffs Land Rover Bumper to be run at the Punchestown Festival on 26 April.

Update: 1st dam: Autumn Return (IRE): winner at 5 in 2022 of National Hunt Flat Race at Ayr.

22 He's My Hero (GB) by Telescope (IRE) x Madam Bijou (GB)

P2P.ie Review: A fine debut effort by this son of Telescope who battled gamely all the way to the line at Dromahane on Sunday. He ran into the exciting Croke Park who has proven form from a top Lingstown maiden and ran him to the line where only one length separated the pair. Chasing the leaders into the straight he challenged wide in the home straight and disputed the lead two out. Once headed he showed all the right attributes to battle all the way to the line. He is already a brother to a very talented and graded proven seven times winner Killala Quay and from the family of Hebridean.

23 No Questions Asked (IRE) by Ask (GB) x Fancy Fashion (IRE)

P2P Review: Faced two potentially smart rivals when making his debut in a four-year-old maidens' race at Edgcote in Oxfordshire on Sunday, but prepped by Britain's champion trainer of pointers, clearly knew his job and duly won in good style. Having been prominent or leading for much of the race, he appeared to be in command when producing a fluent jump at the final fence. One rival fell at that point, hampering the other contender, but they were under pressure at the time and it is hard to believe this horse did not win on merit. A graduate of Goffs' Land Rover Sale, he has become the first winner for his dam, who herself won a point-to-point and was a half-sister to the smart hurdler/chasers Benrajah and City Heights.

24 Abbeyhill (IRE) by Shirocco (GER) x Tenable (GB)

P2P.ie Review: A wide margin winner of his maiden at Portrush where he came home clear by thirteen lengths. From the owner of many top class horses such as Yorkhill, Bellshill, Blaklioon and many more this fellow has the attributes to be another top graduate. He is from a family packed with winners and there is something particularly notable about the way he tackled the Portrush hill which stifled his rivals and saw them toil in his wake. That sort of cruising speed and engine marks him down as a likely multiple winner of the future.

25 Go West (IRE) by Westerner (GB) x Topathistle (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A brother to a smart dual winner this son of the great Westerner has posted a very likeable effort on debut when a close second at Nenagh behind Loop Head. There was only a half-length separating the pair at the line and this fellow lost little in defeat. He raced a little immature and will have learned a lot from this contest as he lost position on the final circuit at a key time in the race but his ability to recover and return to a challenging position speaks volumes for both what he learned on that day and moreover what he is likely to be capable of in the future. A very genuine and tough youngster who will slot in strongly in any string.

26 Ballybeg Boss (IRE) by Libertarian (GB) x Ballybeg Dusty (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: A smart winner of a Castletown maiden on Sunday. A tactical affair he showed notable maturity to jump and travel well throughout and quicken when needed. His two rivals made an effort to threaten on the run to the last but it was telling the way this son of Libertarian picked up after the last to draw clear comfortably. He had been third in the top maiden at Lingstown which has already produced three winners in less than a month and now has a winning bracket proving he can compete at a very decent level and provide success.

27 Helnwein (IRE) by Walk In The Park (IRE) x Synthe Davis (FR)

P2P.ie Review: Helnwein represents the same vendor who sold the subsequent Cheltenham festival winner Samco through this sale, and his latest offering at this sale, Helnwein, comes fresh from a pleasing debut at Dromahane just last Sunday. Always positioned to the fore, he posted a very polished display for a first competitive outing, remaining with a share of the lead until dropping into third as the final fence approached. In the end he was only beaten by six lengths and would have to be expected to open his account in the near future on the basis of this initial effort.

28 Dysart Enos (IRE) by Malinas (GER) x Graces Benefit (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: This daughter of Malinas finished second on debut at Ballyragget to the exciting Fancy Girl. This was a notable effort as she lost her place at a key point in the race with a couple of errors which can be attributed to inexperience. The way she has managed to move back into the race when plenty were competing at the end of the back straight. She quickened through the field and her jumping improved as the race progressed as she stayed on strongly to the line. The very ethos of pointing is to allow time to educate youngsters for a bright future and this almost happened mid race for this mare. She learned in the early part of the race and even though this left her out of position her raw ability brought her right into the mix in the closing stages. There can be little doubt about her ability based on this early evidence.

29 Grey Opportunity (IRE) by Kingston Hill (GB) x Tell The Tale (FR)

P2P.ie Review: A debut winner of her maiden at Loughrea where she fended off a very short priced favourite in the Emmett Mullins trained Time Was. With a steady early gallop speed was key for this contest and this mare was clearly able to utilise her natural speed to win by a narrow margin. She also had to battle to hold off a very determined late challenge and she did this admirably. She has posted a terrific debut effort and is an ideal candidate to maximise the many mares opportunities which the programme now includes.

30 Neigh Botha (IRE) by Doyen (IRE) x Holmshill Gill (IRE)

Review: Neigh Botha showed a highly likeable attitude when scoring convincingly in a 2m Musselburgh bumper at the end of February for trainer Donald Whillans. The five year old Doyen gelding is very closely related to Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Native River and as such, has the physique and pedigree to really excel when faced with obstacles and further distances in future.

32 Doyen Star (IRE) by Doyen (IRE) x Leith Walk (IRE)

P2P.ie Review: The Mean Queen, Battleoverdoyen and Andy Dufresne are just some of the subsequent graded performers by Doyen that won their point-to-points as four-year-old’s before embarking on successful track careers, and Doyen Star became his latest point winner at Rathcannon last Sunday. Produced to challenge off the home bend, a change of gears proved key here given the conditions, and he was not found wanting in that area, as he quickened with purpose in between the final two fences. Encouragingly, when the runner-up tried to close at the last, he picked-up once again to win going away, demonstrating a very likeable winning attitude in the process.
