Updates
P2P.ie comment: New Quay made his debut in what looked a competitive maiden at Lemonfield early this month, when he finished third behind the Gigginstown recruit Master Of Tara, a €75,000 store purchase. The second horse in that contest was subsequently sold for £95,000 to add further depth to that effort. The Mahler gelding looked sure to improve for the run and he duly obliged to win a similar event at Liscarroll last weekend. Given a positive ride by jockey Derek O'Connor, the four-year-old pressed on turning for home, showing that he possess plenty of gears, and a good jump at the last sealed a comfortable success for Sam Curling's recruit. This gelding seems to have plenty of speed and is likely to develop into a smart prospect over middle distances when embarking on a career under rules.
