357. Cave Top (IRE)

Monbeg Stables (Donnchadh Doyle)

Highflyer Bloodstock
£25,000

Updates

P2P.ie Review. Cave Top looks a progressive individual as he stepped-up on the promise of his initial outing at Taylorstown when finishing fourth, to chase home the similarly Monbeg Syndicate-owned Going Gold at Bartlemy. On debut, the bay gelding held every chance racing along the back straight on the final circuit, before getting slightly out-paced on the turn for home. To his credit he galloped all the way to the line, and on the evidence of his latest start at Bartlemy, where he was only beaten by a length and a half, it suggests that he has certainly benefitted for that introductory run. Both starts to date have come on Good ground and the son of Court Cave clearly excels in these conditions, although his dam, a Top Of The World mare, did win a 2m2f Handicap Hurdle on the track on Heavy ground, to suggest he may be capable of handling softer ground in the future.
