P2P.ie Review A homebred of Edmond Kent, the man who started off recent Royal Ascot runner-up and former Grade 1 Christmas Hurdle victor Verdana Blue, Solar Sovereign gained due compensation for a narrow defeat by the vastly more experienced mare Springfield Lodge, whom he was having to concede 5lbs to on his debut at Kildorrery, when he returned victorious at Ballyarthur on the final day of the shortened season. With just the two runners, this unsurprisingly became a steadily run tactical affair, however he produced a good turn of foot from the last, accounting for his sole rival, a horse that also entered the race having finished second at Kildorrery on debut, in a matter of strides.
