P2P.ie comment: Lagganstown has shown far more between the flags than his form figures would suggest and having been staying on strongly in the closing stages before running out on his penultimate start, the Benefical gelding lost out by a just a neck when last seen at Quakerstown. Trained by James King, the five-year-old confirmed his initial promise with his second placed finish and battled bravely in the closing stages of the three-mile event only just failing in the shadows of the post. Doing all his best work at the finish, this was a more than pleasing effort and one that should make him of good interest when he enters the Goffs sales ring for the second time.
