Always in the first half of the 13-strong field, he showed a very likeable attitude to overhaul the long-time leader on the run-in and clock the quickest time on the card in doing so. Even in the short time since the race, the form is already working out well, with the fifth and sixth-placed horses both coming out and finishing placed since. That all suggests this was a performance to take seriously.
