Review: This horse found himself in a decent maiden race when making his debut at Garthorpe in April. Among the 12 runners were several who had been placed in similar contests or were making their first appearance for leading yards, yet Pilot Show beat them all despite showing understandable greenness. The runner-up had the benefit of a recent run in which he had been placed, while the third had shown a lot of promise when third on debut in a good maiden at Horseheath last season. Pilot Show is a son of Yeats and is the second foal of his unraced dam Castle Jane – her first foal, five-year-old Castle Keep, made a promising racing debut when fourth in a bumper for trainer Mel Rowley at Ludlow recently. Castle Jane was a half-sister to three winners headed by the smart King’s Odyssey.
