P2P.ie Review: Carlo Du Berlais has experienced a luckless debut when coming down with three to jump at Tipperary last month whilst still very much involved. The Carlotamix gelding, that is from the family of Andy Dufresne, returned to that Limerick Junction venue 13 days later where he was able to demonstrate his ability by finishing a very fine second in a four-year-old auction maiden. Making good progress towards the end of the back straight, he was very much on terms swinging in, from where he pulled clear with the eventual winner as they left their nine other rivals trailing behind them. Whilst having to settle for the runners-up spot, it was a very encouraging effort from a horse who should not remain a maiden for too long.
