The battling success of the Dylan Thomas gelding that cost €38,000 as a three-year-old, followed two very consistent placed efforts where he chased home more experienced rivals on successive outings at Necarne and Moira in September and October. That Necarne effort has already been boosted, with his conqueror on that occasion, Er Dancer, going on to follow up at Loughrea, before Houston Texas then went and got his own head in front at Tinahely. Battling gamely, this eye-filling six-year-old had to prove his toughness as he overcame the persistent challenge of Local Rogue, a horse that had previously finished placed in a maiden hurdle, with the pair pulling ten lengths clear of the six-time placed Quill Road.
