Having finished third at Portrush in October 2019, the French-bred stepped up from this when filling the runners-up spot at Dromahane on his return to action, being narrowly denied in the process. Once again patiently ridden at Ballycrystal, the Vendangeur gelding, who had jumped off in the rear quarter of the 14-strong field, steadily made forward progress heading towards the halfway point and loomed large as a big danger with three quarters of a mile to race, as Susie Doyle sat confidently behind the leaders on the five-year-old. Once going on from the home bend, he swiftly put the race to bed in the manner of a horse with plenty of toe, as he ultimately won decisively by eight lengths over another of the form horses in the race.
