P2P.ie Review: Ballybough Mary is a horse who has not only shown a great deal of ability at this early stage of her career, but also has a notable pedigree, given that she is out of a half-sister to the former Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Synchronised. Making her debut at Dromahane in mid-October when travelling particularly strongly, the Shirocco mare ran a race full of promise to finish second to another well related mare. That debut came on Good ground, and she showed her versatility ground wise when winning by a wide margin on her very next start in testing conditions at Curraghmore. That Co. Waterford track is one of the bigger courses on the circuit, and in the conditions, it set a real test for the runners, but the gutsy manner in which she saw out her race to win by ten lengths was certainly admirable.
