Landofsmiles shaped with plenty of promise on his latest start at Aghabullogue in January when finishing third in a five-year-old maiden to Clondaw Ace. The son of Beneficial had one initial start at Tralee in May. Building on that run, Landofsmiles disputed the lead for much of the race where he stayed on gamely behind the impressive winner. The Donnchadh Doyle-trained gelding is out of a half-sister to the Grade two performer Sound Witness. When allowing for his progression from his first to second run along with his stamina and attitude this fellow looks like a horse that could provide plenty of entertainment for his new connections.
