P2P.ie Review
Phoenix Way made his debut a winning one when he took his five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Killeagh in January. Ridden close to the pace throughout, the son of Stowaway progressed to lead before the penultimate fence where he quickly gained a strong advantage to run out a twelve length winner over a more experienced runner-up. The time of the race was the quickest of the six races and was run 10 seconds above the average of the day. One of eight newcomers in the race, the Donnchadh Doyle-trained winner is from the family of Group one winner and successful sire, Commander Collins. Phoenix Way displayed reserves of both speed and stamina and should easily make a big play in a bumper and looks an exciting addition to the sale.
