P2P.ie Review: Having finished a very encouraging second on debut at Boulta before Christmas in a four-year-old maiden, Carter McKay demonstrated himself to be a very sharp type with a wide-margin victory at Ballynoe in testing conditions on Sunday. Always positioned close to the pace, the Martaline gelding produced an emphatic turn of foot to quicken clear of his rivals in a matter of strides in between the final two fences, before showing no signs of stopping as he lengthened further clear up the run-in. With plenty of flat lines to his pedigree, it is no surprise to see that he is capable of producing such a notable turn of foot, and he is a horse who will have little trouble winning on the track over middle distances and looks a very smart recruit.
