P2P Review - As a half-brother of the dual hurdle winner Regina Dracones, Calvic has proven himself more than up to emulating those efforts of his sibling having looked a progressive individual in two starts this term. Having raced prominently on his debut at Monksgrange in September where he was looked after when his chance was gone to still finish a very creditable fourth behind subsequent winner Coastguard Station, the Califet gelding was once again ridden positively when appearing at Loughrea two weeks later. Here it was only the very smart looking Amirite who got the better of him as he finished a four-length second in the day’s quickest time, whilst also showing versatility in terms of the ground condition that he has acted on. He will surely not remain a maiden for long.
