P2P.ie Review: Shiroccosmagicgem was sent off as the favourite for her debut at Punchestown in mid-May in a performance which offered plenty of promise as she finished a close third behind her more experienced and previously placed stable mate. Showing the benefit for that opening experience, the Shirocco mare made no mistake at the second time of asking as she came from mid pack to sit on the heels of the leader along the back straight. This left her perfectly positioned to challenge off the home bend. She had to be tough however, as the front three jumped the penultimate fence as one, before she began to stamp her authority on the race and pick up best to win going away in good style.
