P2P.ie Review: Kaituna River had to take on a big field of more experienced rivals when lining up as the sole newcomer in the 15-strong maiden at Dromahane in late May, however he defied that lack of previous race experience when putting up a commanding winning debut. Always to the fore, the Ask gelding was one of two horses that broke clear leaving the back straight and although he trailed the previously-placed leader by two lengths turning for home, his rider always looked confident. Once jumping through to lead two-out, he justified his rider’s confidence as he picked up in a matter of strides and swiftly put the race to bed in striking fashion. In the end his winning margin was six lengths and he looks one to note.
